Wingate University Named Athletic Training Staff Of The Year

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The Wingate University athletic training staff, under the direction of Leigh Ann Caldwell, has been selected as the 2009-10 Athletic Training Staff of the Year in the South Atlantic Conference. Wingate earns this award for the first time. The award is voted on by the head athletic trainer at each of the member institutions in the South Atlantic Conference. Read the full story.

Wingate Assistant AD David Sherwood Receives Pair of Awards

July 6

LEXINGTON, KY. -- Wingate University’s Assistant AD for sports information and game operations David Sherwood has garnered a pair of prestigious recognitions this summer. On Tuesday, Sherwood received the College Sports Information Directors of America 25-year Award in San Francisco, Calif. Anderson Officially Joins South Atlantic Conference

July 1

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference grows to 10 league members on Thursday, July 1 as Anderson University becomes an official member. Anderson’s membership was announced on Jan. 22, 2009, but their membership became official with the start of the new academic year July 1. Read the full story.
