HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Daktronics released its 2011 Division II Volleyball All-American Team on Wednesday, with Lenoir-Rhyne's Catherine Hauck being named to the First Team and Wingate's Kelly Adams earning a spot on the Second Team.
Hauck was also a Daktronics All-American in 2010, while Adams becomes the first women's soccer player in Wingate history to earn All-America distinction from Daktronics.
Hauck wrapped up a decorated career for the Bears with a standout year, leading L-R to the SAC regular season title and a bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship. She finished in the top 10 in the conference in nearly every offensive statistical category, including shots, points, goals, assists and game-winners, earning both SAC and Southeast Region Player of the Year honors.
Adams, who led the nation in assists this season, was an All-Conference and All-Region selection after guiding Wingate to a 16-4 record which included an 8-1 mark in league play.
Adams was also named the Most Valuable Player of the 2011 Food Lion SAC Soccer Championship - an event the Bulldogs won, securing an automatic berth to the NCAA Soccer Championship.
The All-American Team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
