ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' guard Todd Withers has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 18 – Jan 1, the League announced today.
Withers, a senior from Greensboro, N.C., averaged 13.7 points and 10.7 rebounds over three games during the holiday break to help the Royals enter the New Year undefeated for the third straight season in a row. Withers totaled 19 points on 63.6-percent shooting in the 82-75 victory at Coker on Dec. 18. He also totaled 12 rebounds to record his fourth double-double of the season. A day later, he scored 11 points and brought down four rebounds as the Royals picked up an 83-77 victory over Johnson C. Smith on Dec. 19. He closed out the 2017 calendar year with 11 points and 16 rebounds to record another double-double in the 64-51 victory at Tarleton St. on Dec. 30. The honor marks his first Player of the Week selection this season.
