ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted four women's and one men's team in the NCAA Regional Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Wingate, Newberry, Lenoir-Rhyne and Catawba represented the League in the women's Southeast Regional Rankings, while Wingate was the lone men's team from the SAC in the Southeast.
The Wingate women are currently 7-1-3 overall to rank No. 6 in the region. Newberry's record of 8-2-2 overall was good for No. 7, while Lenoir-Rhyne landed at No. 8 with a 10-3-1 overall record. Catawba rounded out the list for the South Atlantic Conference women's teams as it came in at No. 9 with a 10-4-0 overall record.
The Bulldog men, who are ranked No. 18 nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, are currently fourth in the Southeast Region with a 9-2-1 record.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Committees up to the NCAA Championship selections.
