The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Soccer Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 9 through Oct. 15. Lincoln Memorial's Victor Peres was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Anderson's Gal Elyashiv was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week.

A senior forward, Peres led the Railsplitters in the scoring column as they split the week with a 4-2 win against North Georgia and dropped their match 3-2 at Lenoir-Rhyne. The Brasilia, Brazil native scored four goals, including a hat trick versus the Nighthawks. Peres is currently second in the SAC in goals and points, while third in shots. This is Peres's first Offensive Player of the Week honor.

Elyashiv, a native of Rishon Le Zion, Israel, record eight saves for the Trojans in a 3-1 over Wingate and six in a scoreless double-overtime draw with Tusculum. In almost 200 minutes, the sophomore goalkeeper had a save percentage of .933. This is Elyashiv's first Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
