ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Seb Anthony was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Martin Knauer was named AstroTurf Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested January 14 through January 20, the Conference office announced today.
Anthony, a freshman from Bury St. Edwards, England, took home first place honors in the 800-meter run at the Wake Forest Invitational. He posted a winning time of 1:54.05 and is currently ranked No. 1 in the SAC in the 800-meter.
Knauer, a sophomore thrower from Wolnzach, Germany, earned her second consecutive first place finish in the shot put last week at the Wake Forest Invitational. He threw an NCAA provisional distance of 17.57 meters, earning the top spot in the SAC rankings and eighth in NCAA Division II.
This is Anthony's first Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, while this marks the first Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Knauer.
