The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Seb Anthony was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Demarius Hampton was named AstroTurf Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested February 4 through February 10, the Conference office announced today.

Anthony, a freshman from Bury St. Edwards, England, posted an NCAA Division II provisional time of 1:50.40 in the 800-meter run and placed fifth at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet last week. He was also part of the Queens' distance medley relay team that took third place at the meet and posted an NCAA Division II provisional time of 9:52.12.

Hampton, a senior from Carthage, N.C., won the triple jump at the JDL College Challenge. His jump of 48'-4.75" was a Lenoir-Rhyne program record and an NCAA Division II provisional mark. He is now ranked No. 13 in the nation in the triple jump.

This is Anthony's second Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, while this also marks the first Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Hampton.
