HICKORY, N.C. – Junior Sprinter P.J. Lotharp keeps reeling in the accolades after a record-breaking 2018-19 Indoor Track & Field season. The USTFCCA tabbed him as the Southeast Region Track Athlete of the Year on Monday morning.

Lotharp, an Indian Trail, N.C. native, is ranked third nationally in the 60-meters at 6.73 and twelth nationally in the 200-meters at 21.36. It was at the South Atlantic Conference Championships where he won the 60, 200 and was a member of the record-breaking and first-place 4x400 relay team.

The last regional award winner for Lenoir-Rhyne was Kate Griewisch in 2011 and 2012.

Lotharp is set to compete in the 60 and 200 at the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Pittsburg, Kan. this weekend.

Award winners were determined by a vote of the USTFCCCA member coaches and the regional awards are presented by Pro Form Sports.
