ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Four members of the South Atlantic Conference were ranked in the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Southeast Region Poll, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (May 1). Wingate leads all schools as the No. 1 team, followed by Tusculum at the No. 3 spot. Queens checks in at No. 5, and Lenoir-Rhyne rounds out the poll at No. 9.
The Bulldogs, currently ranked No. 10 in the nation according to the Oracle/ITA National Poll, have a record of 21-1 after winning the SAC Championship two weeks ago.
Tusculum comes into the ranking with a record of 17-3 and is currently No. 16 in the Oracle/ITA Division II National Poll.
The Royals have a record of 13-4 and are ranked No. 20 in the national poll, while Lenoir-Rhyne is ranked No. 35 with a record of 17-5 overall.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections, which will take place on Tuesday, May 7 at 8:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.
