Wingate Sweeps AstroTurf Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for events during Nov. 26 through Dec. 2. Wingate swept the honors with Tamerah Sebree (track) and Vanisha Wilshire (field) garnering the Athletes of the Week honors.

A sophomore sprinter, Sebree won the women's 60 meter dash at the JDL Fast Track Early Bird Duals on Dec. 2. The Fayetteville, N.C. native's triumphant time of 7.67 seconds is the sixth-best in Division II and is a NCAA Division II provisional qualifier. This is Sebree's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.

A senior jumper, Wilshire won the women's high jump at the same meet. The Louisburg, N.C. native elevated her personal best to 1.75 meters, setting a school record and tying her for the highest jump in Division II this season. With the jump, she is a NCAA Division II provisional qualifier. This is Wilshire's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
