Newberry's Castaneda Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Newberry's Zulay Castaneda has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week nine of the 2023 season, the Conference announced today.

Castaneda, a senior from Panama City, Panama, led the No. 10 Wolves to a 7-0 win over Emory & Henry last week. She picked up a pair of 6-0 wins at No. 1 singles and won 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. For the year, Castaneda is 15-2 in singles play and 15-0 in doubles action.
