Wingate's Walcher Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Florian Walcher has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week ten of the 2023 season, the Conference announced today.

Walcher, a sophomore from Austria, went 4-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 at No. 3/2 doubles last week to lead the Bulldogs to a perfect 12-0 conference record and the SAC Men's Tennis Regular Season Title. Walcher picked up big wins against No. 30 Tusculum and No. 36 Anderson during the week, improving his singles record to 15-1 on the year and his doubles record improved to 15-2.
