Lincoln Memorial's Watkins Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Golfer of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial's Harry Watkins was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Golfer of the Week for events played during the seventh and eighth weeks of the 2023 spring season, the Conference office announced today.
Watkins, a senior from Porthcawl, Wales, picked up a pair of top-10 finishes last week, while leading the Railsplitters to a 17th place finish at the Tennessee River Rumble and a fifth place finish at the Argonaut Invitational. Watkins placed sixth overall in both events, carding rounds of 71, 73, and 66 at the River Rumble, while shooting 71, 71 at the Argonaut. For the week he had four rounds shooting par or better with a stroke average of 70.4.
The bi-monthly award is awarded to the top golfer in the SAC based on their results from the previous two weeks of play.
