Men's Basketball
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman guard Jack Browder has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during the final week of the 2025-26 season, the Conference announced today.
Browder, a senior from Kingsport, Tenn., had an eye-popping week for Carson-Newman with two 39+ point games. Against Mars Hill, Browder dropped 46 points on 12-of-20 shooting and hit all 17 of his free throws. He would follow that with a 39-point performance against Lenoir-Rhyne and went a perfect 21-of-21 from the free throw line. He moved into fourth on both the Carson-Newman and SAC all-time scoring lists and the 21/21 showing from the charity stripe is the third-best mark in NCAA DII history for consecutive free throws made in a game without missing. His numbers for the week included 42.5 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game and 3.5 steals per game. This is the third time this season Browder has earned the SAC weekly honor.

Women's Basketball
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Coker guard Kristynn Knight has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during the final week 2025-26 season, the Conference announced today.
Knight, a graduate student from Winston-Salem, N.C., averaged 19 points per game in wins over Wingate and Emory & Henry for the Cobras last week. She shot 14-for-18 from the field in the two games, converting at a 77.8 percent clip. Knight was also a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and grabbed three rebounds per game and dished out three assists per game. Knight had 17 points in the 75-43 win oer Wingate and added 21 in an 81-73 victory at Emory & Henry.

Men's Lacrosse
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during week four of the 2026 season. Anderson's Ryan Bitterman was named the Offensive Player of the Week, his teammate Chris Czulada was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while Catawba's Ben LoPiccolo was named the Specialist of the Week.
Bitterman, a senior from Alpharetta, Ga., had 15 points in Anderson's two-win week, totaling 8 goals and 7 assists. He is currently No. 1 in SAC, No. 6 in NCAA in goals per game. He also had 7 GBs and 1 CTO on the week. In the win over Lander, he poured in six goals with two assists and followed that up with two goals and five assists in a win at Montevallo.
Czulada, a senior from Boynton Beach, Fla., contributed six caused turnovers and six ground balls in Anderson's two-win week against Lander and at Montevallo last week.
LoPiccolo, a sophomore from Mason, Ohio, made 17 stops between the posts in Catawba's ranked win over #11 Saint Leo in Florida on Saturday. The sophomore goalkeeper logged a .630 save percentage in the overtime victory to keep the Catawba Indians unbeaten at 4-0.

Women's Lacrosse
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during week four of the 2026 season. Anderson's Ava Skeffington was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Wingate's Krysta Churns was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Skeffington, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., recorded eight goals and one assist in a two-game week for Anderson. Against No. 18 Rollins, Skeffington had five goals in a tough 14-13 overtime loss but she followed that up with three goals and an assist in a win over Tusculum.
Churns, a senior from Holbrook, N.Y., piled up five caused turnovers on the night, while also collecting a pair of ground balls as Wingate beat Belmont Abbey 14-6. Churns and the WU defense had a big night, shutting out the Crusaders in the second half en route to a 14-6 win for the #14 Bulldogs.

Tennis
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Nellie Wahlberg has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week and her teammate Samuil Sivinov has been named the Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week four of the 2026 season, the Conference announced today.
Wahlberg a senior from Stockholm, Sweden, went 3-0 in singles action for the Bears and 2-1 in doubles. Competing exclusively at third singles, she won all three of her matches in straight sets, including a 6-1, 6-1 sweep against Anderson. She also competed at third doubles and earned crucial wins over Anderson and Carson-Newman.
Sivinov, a freshman from Sutton, England, went 3-0 in singles action and 3-0 in doubles play for Lenoir-Rhyne as they defeated Anderson, Carson-Newman and UVA Wise last week. In third doubles, he earned 6-3, 6-2 and 6-0 wins and competed between number 4 and 5 singles and won twice in straight sets and overcame a first set loss to Anderson to come back and win 6-3, 6-1.

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba's Brandon Crabtree was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Baseball Player of the Week, while Emory & Henry's Jacob Nester was named Pitcher of the Week for games played during week five of the 2026 season, the conference office announced today.
Crabtree, a junior infielder from Pittsboro, N.C., led the Catawba Indians to a series win over No. 12 Lenoir-Rhyne which helped his team to a 22nd consecutive SAC series win. Crabtree went 8-for-12 against Lenoir-Rhyne in three games and scored five runs and added six extra base hits and five runs driven in. For the week, he hit .529 with a .556 on base percentage and .941 slugging percentage. He didn't strike out in his 17 at bats.
Nester, a senior from Hillsville, Va., threw a complete game shutout as Emory & Henry beat Newberry 3-0 in Friday's series opener. In the win, Nester allowed just seven hits and two walks while striking out seven as the Wasps handed Newberry just their second conference loss of the season.

Softball
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Macauley Bailey was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Baseball Player of the Week, while Wingate's Madison Wilson was named Pitcher of the Week for games played during week four of the 2026 season, the conference office announced today.
Bailey, a senior from Cross Plains, Tenn., had a 14-hit week for the Eagles who went 6-1. Bailey posted a .560 batting average and drove in 10 runs while crossing the plate seven times. She had six doubles and four walks to post a .621 on base percentage and .800 slugging percentage. She added a stolen base and posted a perfect fielding percentage defensively.
Wilson, a junior from Pine Hall, N.C., went 3-0 in the circle for Lenoir-Rhyne last week, tossing a pair of complete games. In her 16.2 innings pitched, she struck out 21 batters and allowed just one earned run and five hits. For the week, she had a 0.42 ERA and 0.84 WHIP. She opened the week with a complete game shutout of Barton and then threw a combined 10.2 innings in a doubleheader against Southern Wesleyan with just two hits allowed and 15 strikeouts.

Beach Volleyball
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba's Sydney Wattles and Taylor Vecchione were named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week for matches played during week three of the 2026 season, the conference office announced today.
The duo posted a perfect 2-0 record on the weekend for the Catawba Indians to help the team to wins over Salem College and Lynchburg on Saturday. Playing in the fifth position, the pair erased first set losses in each contest to rally for wins. Against Lynchburg, they dropped the opener 21-15 but came back to win 21-17 and 15-13. Later in the day, they did the same to Salem, falling 21-16 before coming back to win 21-16 and 18-16 in dramatic fashion.

Golf
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Golfers of the Week for tournaments played during the second two weeks of the spring season. Lenoir-Rhyne's Sean Finan was named the Men's Golfer of the Week, while Wingate's Amely Bochaton earned Women's Golfer of the Week honors.
Finan, a senior from Winston-Salem, N.C., took home first place at the Spring Bulldog Clash on Feb. 23-24 by firing a one-under-par. Finan shot rounds of 70, 70 and 69 with his final score of 209 leading the field of 102 golfers. His individual performance helped the Bears to a second-place overall finish.
Wingate University sophomore women's golfer Amely Bochaton won her 10th career title Tuesday, February 24, taking the individual crown in the Lady Moc Classic. Bochaton finished 54 holes at three-under-par 213, six shots better than Tampa senior Ruth Toennessen. In the third and final round, Bochaton had 12 pars, three birdies and three bogeys on the way to her even-par 72. Bochaton's second-round tally of four-under-par 68 was the low 18-hole score for the tournament. She finished 54 holes with a team-best 12 birdies.
