WePlayed Sports Players of the Week - Mar. 16
Men's Lacrosse
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during week six of the 2026 season. Wingate's Kyle Spence was named the Offensive Player of the Week and his teammate Trey O'Callaghan was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while Anderson's Aiden Dixon was named the Specialist of the Week.
Spence, a senior from Suwanee, Ga., registered five points Saturday, leading No. 8 Wingate to a 14-10 win over No. 11 LR in the Crown Classic. Spence had two goals and three assists, adding three ground balls on the day.
O'Callaghan, a freshman from Huntingtown, Md., anchored the Wingate defense in the victory over nationally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne. In that contest, he notched three caused turnovers while also collecting a ground ball.
Dixon, a junior from Forest Hill, Md., went 18 of 20 from the X in Anderson's win over Emmanuel. He also tallied 13 GBs, one goal, one assist, and one CTO.

Women's Lacrosse
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during week six of the 2026 season. Tusculum's Elisha Stack was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Newberry's Skylar Duval-Lewis was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Stack, a sophomore from Lockport, Ill., set a program single-game record with nine assists and tied her own program record with 12 points in a 22-4 victory over Thomas More. Her nine assists are the most in a game this season in Division II.
Duval-Lewis, a sophomore from Cardon, Ohio, anchored the defensive unit for Newberry across two games, totaling six ground balls, four caused turnovers, and a draw control. In the Wolves' 19–4 win over Mars Hill, Duval-Lewis recorded five ground balls and four caused turnovers while helping limit the Lions' offensive opportunities. She added another ground ball in Newberry's matchup with Flagler College to round out the week.

Tennis
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba's Sofia Antolini has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week and Carson-Newman's Louis Keenan has been named the Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week five of the 2026 season, the Conference announced today.
Antolini, a senior from Montebello Vicentino, Italy, led Catawba to wins over nationally-ranked foes in No. 26 UIndy and No. 13 UT Tyler last week. She went 2-0 at second doubles, with a 6-0 win over UIndy's pair and a 6-3 triumph over UT Tyler. In singles action, she topped UIndy's Maelys Thiery-James at first singles 6-1, 6-3. Catawba won by final scores of 4-0 and 4-0 over those two ranked programs.
Keenan, a sophomore from St. Helier, Channel Islands, was the final match on court against UVA Wise, and with both teams watching on, the sophomore clinched the first conference win for the Eagles, snapping a five-match losing streak for C-N. He went 2-0 at first singles on the week and 2-0 at first doubles for the Eagles.

Baseball
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Matt Procopio was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Baseball Player of the Week, while his teammate Paul Toovalian was named Pitcher of the Week for games played during week seven of the 2026 season, the conference office announced today.
Procopio, a junior infielder from Horseheads, N.Y., went 9-for-14 (.600 average) for Lenoir-Rhyne who went 4-0 on the week with a SAC sweep of Anderson on the weekend. In his four games, he drove in seven runs, scored four times and had a double, triple and home run. He added a stolen base and got on base at a .625 clip with a slugging percentage of 1.000.
Toovalian, a freshman from Commerce, Mich., dominated in the Bears win over Anderson on March 13. In that victory, he tossed a complete game, shut out over seven innings. He allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out 11 batters. His 0.43 WHIP and 14.14 K/9 were overpowering as LR moved up to fourth in the league standings.

Softball
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Mars Hill's Sadie Cecil was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Softball Player of the Week, while Emory & Henry's Malorie Reeves was named Pitcher of the Week for games played during week four of the 2026 season, the conference office announced today.
Cecil, a freshman from Mebane, N.C.., went 9-for-14 for Mars Hill who had a 3-1 week. In the four games, she scored six runs and had two home runs to go with nine runs batted in. She had two doubles and a triple as well, giving her a 1.357 slugging percentage. She added a walk and a stolen base and got on base at a .667 clip. She also had a 1.000 fielding percentage defensively.
Reeves, a senior from Galax, Va., tossed 32 innings and went 5-1 for the Wasps and pitched them to wins over Lincoln Memorial and Wingate on the week. She threw four complete games and struck out 23 batters while posting a 1.75 ERA. She pitched in both ends of a doubleheader sweep over the Railsplitters, allowing just three runs in her 10 innings of work with 11 strikeouts. She threw eight scoreless over Lee in a sweep and allowed one run in seven innings as E&H topped Wingate to close the week.

Golf
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Golfers of the Week for tournaments played during the third two weeks of the spring season. Lincoln Memorial's Harry Dickins was named the Men's Golfer of the Week, while Wingate's Olivia Meinecke earned Women's Golfer of the Week honors.
Dickens, a freshman from Salisbury, England, earned medalist honors at the 2026 First Federal Southeastern Collegiate on March 9-10. The freshman shot a 67-64-72 to win the event, recording a stroke average of 67.6 for the week. He helped the Railsplitters to a third-place team finish .
Wingate University sophomore women's golfer Olivia Meinecke earned her first career medalist honor, leading the No. 1 Bulldogs to the team crown in the fifth annual Jerry Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate tournament at Stonebridge Golf Club Tuesday, March 9. Meinecke shot a career-low round of five-under-par 67 Tuesday to finish 54 holes at 11-under-par 205, three shots better than her nearest competitor. Wingate won its fifth Surratt Memorial in five tries, setting a new tournament scoring mark with its 10-under-par 854. The previous low score was 876 in last year's event. The Bulldogs finished 16 strokes ahead of second-place and NCAA No. 2 Dallas Baptist.
