Tusculum’s Christian Rosa, Carson-Newman’s Matt Teague Named Baseball Players Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Tusculum College's Christian Rosa and Carson-Newman College's Matt Teague have been named the South Atlantic Conference's Player and Pitcher of the Week, announced by league officials on Monday.
Rosa, a catcher for the Pioneers, batted .500 (8-for-16) and posted an .812 slugging percentage as Tusculum went 5-0 for the week, including a sweep over Wingate University. The junior recorded two doubles and a home run as he tallied six RBI and scored nine runs. The Toa Baja, Puerto Rico native also swiped five bases for the week.

Teague, a starting pitcher for the Eagles, pitched 6.2 innings of shutout baseball to improve to 5-1 on the season with a 2-0 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne College. The senior walked none and struck out three to pick up the victory. For the season, the Belmont, N.C. native has only walked 13 batters in 62 innings pitched.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors in the league.
