Baseball Tournament Bracket Adjusted For Saturday
GREENVILLE, S.C. - South Atlantic Conference officials have adjusted the bracket for the 2007 Food Lion SAC Baseball Tournament in order to prevent the possibility of a team having to play three games on Saturday.
Tournament officials were forced to adjust the bracket after rain and lightning washed out one full game and most of another during Thursday's scheduled first day.
Now, the Carson-Newman versus Catawba game will start at noon, rather than 9:30 a.m. as previously announced. The loser of that game will turn around and play Wingate at 3:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., Tusculum will face the winner of the Carson-Newman and Catawba game.
The tournament would resume at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning with the loser bracket game. The championship game remains at 1 p.m., with a second game, if necessary, to follow at 4 p.m.
