Tusculum’s Stallings, Wingate’s Currie Earn First SAC Baseball Weekly Awards
ROCK HILL, S.C. - With the first week of baseball season in the books, Tusculum third baseman Cade Stallings and Wingate pitcher Ben Currie have earned the SAC's weekly awards, it was announced on Tuesday.
Stallings was named the conference's Player of the Week, while Currie took home Pitcher of the Week honors.

Stallings led Tusculum to three season-opening wins over St. Andrews, hitting .625 in the series. He finished the weekend with five hits - including one double and one home run - in addition to five walks and six RBI.
The junior completed the three-game sweep with a 1.125 slugging percentage and a .786 OBP.
Currie picked up one of Wingate's three victories over Concord last weekend, pitching 5.2 innings without allowing an earned run.
The Clemmons, N.C., native allowed just six hits while striking out three. Only one of the hits against Currie went for extra bases.
