The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum infielder Colby Skeen has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week, and Wingate right-handed pitcher Austin Turgeon has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Mar. 19-25, the League announced today.

Skeen a senior from Powell, Tenn., led the Pioneers to a 2-1 record last week, including a two-game sweep of SAC foe Anderson. He batted .556, going 5-for-9 with home run, a double, nine RBI and two runs scored. He also posted a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .556 on-base percentage.

Turgeon, a junior from Athens, Ga., tossed a complete game shut out to secure the Bulldogs SAC series victory over Lenoir-Rhyne last week. He threw eight scoreless innings in a seven-inning game, allowing just three hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

These are the first Player of the Week honors for both Skeen and Turgeon.
