Three SAC Baseball Teams Under Consideration for NCAA DII Southeast Regional
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference had three schools under consideration in the NCAA Southeast Region Baseball poll released by the NCAA on Wednesday (May 12). Due to the disparity of games played this season and the limited data available, schools are listed as "under consideration" for NCAA Division II Baseball championship selection in alphabetical order.
Catawba, Newberry, and Wingate are all under consideration, while Columbus State, Mount Olive, UNC Pembroke, North Georgia, and North Greenville are being considered as well.
Catawba has a record of 32-9, Newberry is 25-15, and Wingate is 30-12. Wingate is guaranteed a spot in the championship, having won the automatic bid as the SAC Pilot Flying J Baseball Tournament Champion.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Baseball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
