Catawba Claims Regular Season Crown; SAC Tournament Seeding Announced

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba is the South Atlantic Conference Baseball Regular Season Champion, finishing the SAC portion of their 2025 schedule with a 25-5 record and an overall record of 37-10. The Catawba Indians will be the No. 1 seed in the South Atlantic Conference Baseball Championship, which will begin with the opening rounds on May 2-4 and conclude with a best-of-three championship series on May 9-10 at McCrary Park in Asheboro, N.C.

Lenoir-Rhyne finished the regular season at 23-7 in SAC play to claim the No. 2 seed.

Carson-Newman secured the No. 3 seed with a 21-9 conference record. Limestone and Coker both finished 17-13, with Limestone earning the tiebreaker to claim the four seed, beating Coker in the regular season twice. 

Wingate claimed the No. 6 seed at 15-15.

UVA Wise and Newberry both ended the season with 14-16 conference marks, but UVA Wise earned the No. 7 seed via tiebreaker criteria beating Newberry twice this season. Newberry rounds out the field as the No. 8 seed.

The double elimination 2025 SAC Baseball Championship will open May 2-4, with seeds 1, 4, 5, and 8 playing at Catawba and seeds 2, 3, 6, and 7 competing at Lenoir-Rhyne. The two teams that advance out of each site will meet for a best-of-three series at McCrary Park in Asheboro, N.C., on May 9-10 to determine the 2025 SAC Baseball Champion.
