Newberry’s Benedict Named Daktronics All-American
Newberry, S.C. - Newberry College offensive lineman Heath Benedict has been named a second-team All-American by Daktronics, Inc., on Tuesday afternoon.
Benedict, a junior from Greer, S.C., was a major reason for the Indians running attack during the 2006 season. He graded out at 90 percent for the season and had over 100 knockdown blocks.
This is the fourth postseason honor that Benedict has earned
this season. On November 13, he was named to the South Atlantic
All-Conference First Team and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, given
annually to the top blocker in the SAC. On November 29, Benedict
was named to the All-Southeast Region First Team by Daktronics.
