Tusculum’s Jarvis Littlejohn Named National Defensive Player Of The Week
Tusculum College linebacker Jarvis Littlejohn has been named the D2football.com National Defensive Player of the Week announced College officials Tuesday.
Littlejohn, a 5-11, 240-pound linebacker from Gaffney, S.C.,
recorded a career-high 17 tackles in Tusculum's 15-12
come-from-behind win over Mars Hill. Littlejohn tied a school
single-game record with five tackles for loss (-18 yards),
including a sack. With Tusculum trailing 12-9 in the fourth
quarter, Littlejohn recovered a fumble, setting up TC's winning
touchdown with eight minutes remaining in the game. The 17 tackles
by the Gaffney High School product are the fifth-most ever posted
by a Pioneer. He was also named the South Atlantic Conference
Defensive Player of the Week.
Tusculum (6-4, 4-1 SAC) wraps up the regular season this Saturday when the Pioneers face nationally-ranked Carson-Newman at 1 p.m. from Burke-Tarr Stadium. The winner of the game will claim at least a share of the conference championship. After dropping its first three games, Tusculum has won five of its last six contests and is in a three-way tie for first place in the SAC with Carson-Newman and Catawba.
