Catawba’s Chip Hester Named AFCA Region Coach Of The Year

WACO, Texas -- Catawba College head football coach Chip Hester was named the AFCA Region Coach of the Year in awards recently released. Hester was earlier named South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year for the first time.

Hester guided the team to a record-equaling 11 wins in 2007. The squad won the SAC Championship for the second time under Hester and qualified for the NCAA II playoffs for a third time. He has a 47-20 record in six years at Catawba.
