Lenoir-Rhyne’s Colin Corpe Named National Player Of The Week By D2Football.com
LIBERTY, Mo. - Lenoir-Rhyne University's Colin Corpe has been named the D2Football.com Special Teams Player Of The Week. Corpe, a junior placekicker from Ocala, Fla., tied his own school record with four field goals in L-R's 34-31 victory over Tusculum last Saturday at home.
Corpe connected on all four field goal attempts against the Pioneers including a career-long 47-yarder in the third quarter and finished with 14 points on the day.
Corpe, who earned South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player-Of-The-Week honors on Monday, moved into a third-place tie on Lenoir-Rhyne's all-time scoring list for kickers with 167 points (Andrew Coln, 2004-07).
The 2008 First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference honoree has
connected on 10-of-16 field goal attempts and 23-of-25
point-after-tries this year and is second on the team in scoring
with 53 points.
Lake Erie's Sean Bedelvesky and Catawba's Jumal Rolle were named D2Football.com's Offensive and Defensive Players Of The Week, respectively.
