JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.- The 20th-ranked Carson-Newman College
football team dismantled visiting Fayetteville State Thursday
night. The Eagles defense recorded five sacks and the offense
scored eight touchdowns on its way to a 56-7 victory over the

Brevard, N.C. - Derek Church capped on a 196 yard offensive
performance with a three yard touchdown catch with 3:20 in the
fourth quarter, tying the game at 35 apiece and Darren Walker
picked off Keahn Wallace's pass on third down in the first overtime
period, paving way to Austin Clark's game-winning 18 yard field
goal as the Tornados survived a wild home opener with a 38-35

VALDOSTA, Ga. - Untimely miscues spelled defeat for the
Newberry College Wolves despite statistical domination, as the
nationally-ranked Valdosta State Blazers scraped by with a 24-17

Western Carolina 52, Mars Hill 31
CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Jonas Randolph rushed for 174 yards and two
touchdowns but the Lions lost to Western Carolina, 52-31 Saturday
night at E.J. Whitmire Stadium and Bob Waters Field. Both teams

STATESBORO, Ga. --- Eight different Georgia Southern players
scored a touchdown as the second-ranked Eagles (NCAA Football
Championship Subdivision) posted a 62-21 victory over visiting
Tusculum College Saturday night at Paulson Stadium before a crowd

Coastal Carolina 20, Catawba 3
CONWAY, SC -- The Catawba defense slowed down Coastal Carolina
(NCAA FCS), but the offense could not cash in on several trips deep
inside Chanticleer territory in a 20-3 loss in football action on
Saturday night at Brooks Stadium. Coastal Carolina improves to

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson College Football Team (1-1)
surprised Lenoir-Rhyne University (1-1) with a 28-10 victory
