MHC’s Richt Named Offensive Player of the Week, L-R’s Green Earns both Defensive and Special Teams Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. - After playing key roles in victories that helped their teams remain unbeaten in the SAC on Saturday, Mars Hill's Jon Richt and Lenoir-Rhyne's Michael Green have been named the league's football Players of the Week.

Richt receives the offensive award, while Green's performance earns
him both defensive and special teams honors.
In a key conference win over Wingate that vaulted Mars Hill into the AFCA National Rankings for the first time this season, Richt completed 28-of-38 passes for 339 yards and four touchdowns
His performance set new Mars Hill single-game records for completions (28) and total offense (380 yards: 339 passing, 41 rushing). Richt also tied the school's career passing touchdown mark (39).
Green is the first player in the SAC this season to win multiple Player of the Week honors in a single week. On defense, the Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore led the Bears with a team-high nine tackles in a 33-27 triple overtime win over Brevard. Eight of Green's nine tackles were solo as Lenoir-Rhyne held Brevard to just 211 yards of offense including 106 on the ground.
On special teams, Green returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Green added another punt return of 39 yards in the third quarter and totaled six punt returns for 114 yards on the afternoon.
Green is currently third in the conference in punt return average.
