SAC Football Roundup: Mars Hill and L-R Split SAC Title, Randolph Sets Rushing Record
No. 23 Mars Hill defeated Carson-Newman and Lenoir-Rhyne handled Catawba on Saturday, clinching a share of the SAC football championship for both teams. Get a recap from all of the day's action at Week 11 Roundup.
L-R and MHC each finished with a 6-1 record in the SAC. They will learn their postseason fates on Sunday night during the NCAA Division II Football Championship Selection Show, which will air at 5 p.m. live on www.ncaa.com.
Saturday was also headline by Mars Hill's Jonas Randolph, who set the SAC single-season rushing record with 232 yards against Carson-Newman, giving him 1,970 yards on the year. The performance vaulted him ahead of Carson-Newman's Kenneth Tyson, who rushed for 1,867 yards in 1987.
