Belmont Abbey's Mitchell Named Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA National Offensive Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Belmont Abbey's Maddie Mitchell has been named the Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA National Offensive Player of the Week, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced on Wednesday (Oct. 9).  

Mitchell, a sophomore forward from Kitchener, Ontario, led the Crusaders to a 2-0 record last week with a 6-0 win over Converse and a 4-3 win over Newberry. She scored two goals and had an assist against Converse and added a goal and two more assists against Newberry. She finished the week with three goals and three assists for nine points.

In addition to being named National Offensive Player of the Week, Mitchell was also named the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas AstroTurf Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week.
