Newberry and Lander Sit Top 10 in Latest Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference placed two teams inside the top-10 of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll, released Tuesday, September 23.
Newberry College moved up three spots to No. 4 nationally after extending its unbeaten start to 5-0. The Wolves, who have outscored opponents 25-2 this season, have earned 45 points in the poll.
Lander University also continued its climb, rising to No. 8 with a 4-0 record. The Bearcats entered the poll for the first time last week and have now moved up one place after another strong showing, fueled by a balanced offense and defense.
The NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll is voted on by designated NFHCA member coaches from each conference and has no bearing on selection to the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship. Eligible teams must maintain a record of .500 or above to be considered for ranking each week.
