Newberry’s Parker Keeler Named NFHCA Division II National Player of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Newberry College forward Parker Keeler has been named the 2025 NFHCA Division II National Player of the Year, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, earning the top individual honor in Division II field hockey.
Keeler's national recognition caps one of the most dominant offensive seasons in Division II history. The SAC Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team NFHCA All-American, Keeler finished the season first nationally in assists and total points while ranking among the national leaders in goals scored. She recorded at least one point in 15 of 18 games, including eight multi-point performances.
A constant threat throughout the season, Keeler powered Newberry's high-octane offense as the Wolves led Division II in scoring offense. Her playmaking ability, vision, and finishing touch were instrumental in Newberry capturing both the SAC regular-season and tournament championships and advancing to the NCAA Division II National Championship game.
Keeler elevated her performance in the postseason, producing key goals and assists against top-ranked competition during Newberry's run to a national runner-up finish. Her ability to impact games in critical moments made her one of the most difficult players to defend in the country.
The NFHCA Division II National Player of the Year award recognizes the most outstanding student-athlete in the nation based on performance, impact, and consistency throughout the season. Keeler becomes one of the few student-athletes in South Atlantic Conference history to earn the honor, further underscoring the conference's presence on the national stage.
