Tusculum’s Kyle Moore Named Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College's Kyle Moore has been named South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today. Moore wins the award for the fifth time this year and for the second consecutive week.
Moore, a junior guard from Gainesville, Fla., averaged 30 points per game this week in leading Tusculum to a pair of home wins against league-foes Lincoln Memorial (74-71) and No. 25 Catawba (72-55) on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
Moore poured in 33 points while hitting six three-pointers and
connecting on nine-of-10 free throw attempts in the victory over
Lincoln Memorial before adding 27 points with six more treys in the
win against Catawba.
Moore shot 71 percent (12-of-17) from behind the three-point line and hit 14-of-17 free throw attempts (82 percent) for the week as well.
Moore currently leads the SAC in scoring (21.1 ppg) and has scored 20 or more points in 11 games this year. Tusculum (16-6, 8-3) has won eight straight contests and is currently in sole possession of first place in the South Atlantic Conference.
Wednesday before hosting local rival Carson-Newman on Saturday.
The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
