Anderson’s Jones, LMU’s Salaman Named SAC Basketball Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Anderson's Denzail Jones and Lincoln Memorial's Dayshalee Salaman, a pair of high-scoring guards, have been selected as the SAC Basketball Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
It marks the second time this season both Jones and Salaman have earned Player of the Week accolades.
Jones led the 24th-ranked Trojans to a pair of key road victories by averaging 22 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. On Wednesday at Tusculum, the junior scored 29 points on eight-of-14 shooting and pulled down a career-high eight rebounds.
Jones then came up huge on Saturday in Anderson's showdown with No. 8 Lincoln Memorial, hitting a three-pointer with 22 seconds remaining that proved to be the game-winner. The Tuscaloosa, Ala., native finished with 15 points in the victory, which clinched at least a share of the regular season SAC Championship for the Trojans.
