L-R’s Dillingham, Newberry’s Creed Named SAC Basketball Players of the Week
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Denzel Dillingham and Newberry freshman Samantha Creed have been selected as the first SAC Players of the Week of the 2012-13 basketball season, it was announced on Tuesday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Denzel Dillingham and Newberry freshman Samantha Creed have been selected as the first SAC Players of the Week of the 2012-13 basketball season, it was announced on Tuesday.
Dillingham helped L-R get off to a 2-0 start by averaging 18.5 points, three assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in the Bears' wins over Limestone and Queens.
The guard opened his season by scoring 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting on Friday against Limestone. He followed that performance with nine points on Saturday versus Queens.
Dillingham also went 5-for-12 on three pointers and 10-for-11 on free throws last week.

Creed kicked off her college career by averaging 18 points and four rebounds in Newberry's victories over UNC Pemboke and Montevallo. In her Newberry debut on Saturday against UNCP, the Australia native finished with 28 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Creed then scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds on Sunday versus Montevallo.
For the week, she shot 44.8-percent from the field and also added five steals.
