SAC Well Represented in First NCAA Men's Basketball Regional Rankings
The first NCAA Division II men’s basketball regional rankings were released on Wednesday, with three SAC teams earning spots in the Southeast Region poll. The poll is the official ranking system utilized by the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Basketball Committee during the NCAA Championship selection process.

The poll is the official ranking system utilized by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Basketball Committee during the NCAA Championship selection process.
In the men's regional poll, Lincoln Memorial is the highest-ranked SAC team at No. 2. The Railsplitters, 16-6 overall and 11-3 in the conference, were also ranked 19th in the nation in this week's NABC national poll.
LMU currently has the SAC's third-best scoring offense and fourth-best scoring defense. The Railsplitters have earned selections to two-straight NCAA Tournaments.
Current SAC-leader Wingate is fifth in the regional poll. WU is 16-6 overall and 12-2 in the league. The Bulldogs, who won last year's Food Lion SAC Tournament title, lead the conference by allowing just 60.1 points per game and 39.2-percent shooting.
Defending SAC regular-season champion Anderson is No. 10 in the initial rankings. The Trojans have made three-consecutive NCAA Tournaments, and are currently 15-7 overall and 11-3 in the league.
AU is led by reigning SAC Player of the Year Denzail Jones, who is second in the conference in scoring at 18.8 points per game.
Regional rankings will be released each week leading up to NCAA Championship selections on Sunday, March 10.
