The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week, Jan. 5

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman forward Sawyer Williams has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 22-Jan. 4, the League announced today.

Sawyer, a sophomore from Owenton, Ky., posted a season-best 17 points and pulled down seven boards to lead the Eagles to an 81-60 win over Conference foe Wingate on Jan. 3.  He shot 78 percent from the field and added a pair of assists, a block and one steal in the win.  The honor is first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
