The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week, Jan. 26
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman forward Carson Brooks has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 19-25, the League announced today.
Brooks, a junior from Knoxville, Tenn., posted back-to-back 20-point games for the first time in his career to lead the Eagles to a 1-1 record last week. He got his week started with 23 points on 67 percent shooting, to go along with 10 boards, two assists and two steals in a narrow loss to Tusculum on Jan. 21. Three days later at Newberry, Brooks put in 25 points and ripped down 11 rebounds in the 101-92 win against the Wolves. He also chipped in two assists, two steals and a block in the win. The honor marks his first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
Also nominated for Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Trevon Shaw (Brevard), Donte Samuels (Coker), Luquon Choice (Lincoln Memorial), Sean Morgan (Queens) and Cory Fagan (Tusculum).
