The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, Dec. 5

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba guard Jameel Taylor has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 28-Dec. 4, the League announced today.

Taylor, a junior from Anderson, S.C., averaged 19.7 points per game and shot 62 percent from the field to lead the Catawba Indians to three wins last week, including a SAC win over Tusculum.  He highlighted his week with 23 points on 10-of-14 from the floor and one from downtown in Catawba's 89-86 win over Tusculum on Dec. 3.  Taylor got his week started with 17 points in a win over Winston-Salem State on Nov. 28 and followed with 19 points as Catawba downed North Greenville on Dec. 1.  Taylor recorded 12 assists over the three-game span and came away with four steals and a pair of blocked shots.  The honor is his first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
