The South Atlantic Conference Announces 2019 SAC Pilot Flying J Men's Basketball Championship Seeds

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)Queens, ranked No. 9 in the nation, won the 2018-19 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Title as it finished the season with a 19-1 record in conference play.  With the title, the Royals have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Pilot Flying J Men's Basketball Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon.  Queens heads into the playoffs with an eight-game winning streak, winning nine of its last 10 games. 

Catawba finished in second with a 14-6 in record in conference, earning the No. 2 seed in SAC Championship. Lincoln Memorial earned the No. 3 seed with a 14-6 record. Catawba won the tiebreaker with Lincoln Memorial based on its 2-0 record versus Tusculum, while Lincoln Memorial is 1-1. Earning the No. 4 seed is Tusculum, who finished the 2018-19 season SAC season with a 12-8 mark.  Lenoir-Rhyne landed at No. 5 in the bracket, as it went 12-8 on the SAC season, and Wingate earned the No. 6 seed with a 12-8 SAC record. The Pioneers won the tiebreaker over Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate by virtue of its 3-1 record versus the other two teams. The Bears won the tiebreaker over Wingate based on their win over Queens.

Rounding out the bracket is Anderson at No. 7 with a record of 10-10 in SAC play, while Carson-Newman earned the No. 8 slot with an 8-12 SAC record.

The 2019 South Atlantic Conference Pilot Flying J Men's Basketball Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites on Wednesday (March 6), before moving to Timmons Arena in Greenville, S.C. for the semifinals and finals on March 9 and 10. The SAC Pilot Flying J Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament.  The SAC Pilot Flying J Men's Basketball Championship schedule is as follows:
