Carson-Newman's Brenegan Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman guard Luke Brenegan has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week eleven of the 2020-21 season, the Conference announced today.
Brenegan, a junior from Greenville, S.C., led the Eagles to three SAC wins last week, giving Carson-Newman six wins in their last seven games. He averaged 17 points for the week with three rebounds, three assists, and 1.3 steals, while shooting 59.3 percent from the field, 60 percent from three-point range, and 100 percent from the free throw line. In his first game of the week, Brenegan netted 15 points with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a 91-55 win over Limestone. He followed that performance with a 19-point showing with two rebounds, five assists, and two steals in a 95-59 victory over Anderson. Brenegan closed out the week by scoring 17 points with four rebounds and two assists in an 81-62 win over Catawba.
This is Brenegan's first player of the week selection this season.
