Four SAC Teams Ranked in NCAA Southeast Region Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference had four schools ranked in the latest NCAA Southeast Region Men's Basketball poll, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Mar. 3). Lincoln Memorial is No. 1, followed by Queens at No. 4, Tusculum at No. 5, and Carson-Newman at No. 6.
In addition to the four SAC schools ranked in this week's poll, there are three Conference Carolinas schools were ranked; Emmanuel at No. 2, Belmont Abbey at No. 3, and Southern Wesleyan at No. 8, and one Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) school; Benedict at No. 7.
Lincoln Memorial is 15-3 in region, Queens is 13-3, Tusculum is 12-4, and Carson-Newman has a 13-5 record.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections. The 2021 NCAA Division Men's Basketball Southeast Region Championship will be held at Lincoln Memorial March 14-16.
