Wingate's Cottingham Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate junior guard Jarren Cottingham has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week eight of the 2021-22 season, the Conference announced today.

Cottingham, a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, had an impressive week, as he led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record, including wins over USC Aiken and UVA Wise. He started the week with a 21 point and six rebound performance versus USC Aiken, and then scored 20 points with six rebounds and seven assists against UVA Wise. Overall, Cottingham closed out the week with a total of 41 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and two steals.  For the week he averaged 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.0 steals.

This is Cottingham's second player of the week selection this season.
