Carson-Newman's Brenegan Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman guard Luke Brenegan has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week 10 of the 2021-22 season, the Conference announced today.
Brenegan, a junior from Greenville, S.C., led the Eagles to a pair of SAC wins last week over Catawba (84-81) and Lenoir-Rhyne (73-65). He scored a career-high 34 points, including going 5-for-7 from three-point range, in the Eagle's win over Catawba, and added 10 more points and a team high four assists in the victory over the Bears. For the week Brenegan shot 50 percent from the field and from beyond the arc, while averaging 22 points with two rebounds, 2.5 assists, and a steal.
This is Brenegan's first player of the week selection this season.
