Lenoir-Rhyne's Johnson Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne guard Jalen Johnson has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week fourteen of the 2022-23 season, the Conference announced today.
Johnson, a junior from Durham, N.C., led the Bears to a 2-0 record last week, including a 70-59 win over No. 7 Lincoln Memorial. He averaged 21 points with five rebounds, 3.5 assists, and three steals for the week, while shooting 50 percent from the field. Johnson scored 20 points with eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a 69-60 win over Anderson. He then poured in 22 points with two rebounds, four assists, and four steals against Lincoln Memorial.
