Lincoln Memorial 19th after NCAA Men’s Golf Regional First Round
SAC champion Lincoln Memorial is 19th as a team and individual qualifier Brian Denton of Wingate is tied for 12th on the leaderboard after the first round of the 2013 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship South Super Regional.
HOWEY IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – SAC champion Lincoln Memorial is 19th as a team and individual qualifier Brian Denton of Wingate is tied for 12th on the leaderboard after the first round of the 2013 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship South Super Regional.
LMU finished its opening round with a score of 26-over 314. The Railsplitters were led by a round of 75 from SAC Player of the Year Jamie Chapman, while Braden Galyon shot a 78. Rounding out the LMU lineup were Rand Wasson's round of 80, and Connor Froning and Garrett Metz's rounds of 81.
Denton had the best round of any individual from the SAC on Monday, shooting an even-par 72. He is three shots behind individual leader Ricardo Celia of Nova Southeastern.
Newberry's Chandler Gruenemeier, who also earned a selection to the tournament as an individual, shot a 74 on Monday and is tied for 35th.
Barry leads the team standings with a score of 284 after the first round. Second-round play gets underway early Tuesday morning.
