The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during the fifth weekend of the 2021 season. Anderson's Isaiah Hines garnered the offensive honor, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Connor Stanley collected the defensive honor.
A freshman attacker and leading scorer for the Trojans Hines, helped his team to a 2-0 conference record this past week. He netted four goals on five points, while also adding two ground balls and two caused turnovers in their 15-4 win over Lincoln Memorial. Hines went on to score four goals on six points, two ground balls, two caused turnover and two assists in their 28-11 win over Mars Hill. Overall, the Allen, Tx., native garnered 11 points on eight goals while also picking up four ground balls and four caused turnovers. This is Hines' first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
A senior defender Stanley, helped the Bears lock in their first ever home win over conference opponent Limestone, beating them 16-7. The Glenelg, Md., native tied a program record of most caused turnovers in a game with five, while also adding a team-high six groundballs. Stanley helped hold the Saints to just seven goals and one in each of the final three quarters. This is Stanley's first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
