Men's Lacrosse Individual Awards and All-Conference Teams Announced
ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) – Wingate's Kyle Spence was selected as the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year, while Anderson's Aiden Dixon was selected as the Conference's Specialist of the Year. Newberry's Brian Lake was named the Defensive Player of the Year while teammate Liam Vollans was named the Freshman of the Year. Limestone's Brendan Storrier was named the Coach of the Year, the SAC Office announced today.
Spence, a junior from Suwanee, Ga., leads the nation in assists with his 58 on the year and his 90 points ranks him second in the nation. He helps run a Wingate offense that ranks fourth nationally in assists per game and points per game and fifth in scoring offense. He exploded for 10 points on four goals and six assists against Tusculum and had nine points against Anderson. He hasn't tallied less than three points in a game all season.
Dixon, a sophomore from Forest Hill, Md., won 151 out of his 223 face offs this season, winning at a 67.7 percent clip. He grabbed 94 ground balls on the year. He went on to add nine goals and eight assists for 17 points on the offensive end. Dixon won the SAC Specialist of the Week award twice this year and ranks 10th in the nation in faceoff percentage.
Lake, a graduate student from Ronkonkoma, N.Y., helped Newberry to a 10-7 record and a national ranking most of the season. Lake played and started in all 17 games, finishing with a team-high 40 caused turnovers – which led the SAC – and adding 41 ground balls. Lake was a standout against Mars Hill, registering eight ground balls and eight caused turnovers in Newberry's 19-4 win.
Vollans, a freshman from Peterborough, Ontario, spent his rookie campaign with Newberry where he totaled a team-high 60 points in 17 games. He finished with 41 goals, which also led his team, and added 19 assists. He finished with 19 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers on the campaign. He finished with five or more points in a game on five different occasions with a season-high seven points against Lincoln Memorial.
Storrier has guided Limestone to a third South Atlantic Conference regular season title as the Saints went a perfect 10-0 on the year. This is the second straight year Limestone went the entire regular season without a loss as they went 9-0 in 2024. This is the second consecutive SAC Coach of the Year award for Storrier and his third in the past four seasons.
The 2025 South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Semifinals will take place April 30 with Limestone hosting Wingate and Anderson hosting Lenoir-Rhyne. The SAC Championship will be on Saturday, May 3 at 4 p.m. at the Sportsplex at Matthews in Matthews, N.C.
