LMU’s Moura, Lenoir-Rhyne’s Jones Named Men’s Soccer Players Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lincoln Memorial University's Willian Moura (Newtown, Connecticut) and Lenoir-Rhyne University's Daniel Jones (Wrexham, Wales) have been named South Atlantic Conference Co-Players of the Week.
LMU's Moura, a 6-1 sophomore forward, scored four goals last week, two against Delta State University and two against Barton College to help the Railsplitters kick-off the 2008 schedule with back-to-back shutouts. The victories not only move the Railsplitters to 2-0 on the year, they also helped propel the LMU men into this week's top spot in the latest NSCAA Top-25 poll released Tuesday afternoon. The Railsplitters moved into the top spot with help from Domincan (New York) who defeated defending national champion Franklin Pierce last week.

Lenoir-Rhyne's Jones, a 5-10 freshman forward, also helped the Bears capture a win and a tie last week to open the season with a 1-1 record. Jones scored three goals, including the game-winner, in LRU's 4-2 win over Pfeiffer. On Sunday, the freshman added one goals for the Bears in a two-all tie with Peach Belt Athletic Conference opponent Francis Marion. The Bears host NAIA opponent King College at home on Saturday.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
