Tusculum’s Conceicao Named Men’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College senior forward Bruno Conceicão has been named South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week, the league announced.
Last week, Conceicão led the Pioneers to a 2-0 mark and
back-to-back shutouts of Lambuth University (3-0) and Milligan
College (4-0). In the Pioneers match with the Eagles of Lambuth,
Conceicão scored a hat-trick to lead Tusculum to its third
win of the year.
In the Pioneers match with the Buffalos of Milligan College, Conceicão assisted the first two goals before notching two more of his own late in the match to move TC to 4-0 on the year. The victories were good enough to move the Pioneers into the nation's No. 4 spot in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll released Tuesday afternoon.
This week the Pioneers will try to remain unbeaten when they travel to Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina. The match with Bearcats and the Pioneers is set to get underway at 7:00 p.m.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
