Tusculum’s Bruno Conceicão Named Men’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College men's soccer forward Bruno Conceicão (Valenca, Bahia, Brazil) was named South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the second time this season by the conference office.
Conceicão, a 5-10 senior, received the honor several weeks ago and earned the honor for the second time by leading the Pioneers to a 2-0 week with wins over South Atlantic Conference opponents Brevard College (3-0) and Wingate University (4-0).
In last week's matches, Conceicão scored two of the
Pioneer's three goals against Brevard, while hitting the back of
the net once in the win over Wingate and handing out three assists.
For the year the All-SAC performer leads the Pioneers and the South
Atlantic Conference in points (19) and in points per game (2.71).
Conceicão is also tied with Wingate University's Junior
Nyemb for goals scored this season with eight.
Now 8-1 on the year and 1-1 in league play, the No. 20 nationally ranked Pioneers will host Lees-McRae College Wednesday evening and then will travel to Newberry College on Saturday.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
